You mean he was fortunate enough for you to offer to write about it? It looks clean and easy to navigate. Cool beans. “My boss was nice enough to let me write about our web site’s new front page layout.”

I've heard of finding a purple cow. I've also heard about the "elephant in the room," although from the context this sounds more like you found your "pony." And the funny thing is, I think a lot of what you expressed can apply to many different types of careers, or "callings." And you definitely hit the nail on the head with your final question of whether or not the journey is being enjoyed. Because, at the end of the day, that's pretty essential. :) Very well said, and very well written. At the time, I had no ulterior motive. Make friends with influential people online which could someday become your boss, business partner, JV, client, or friend. The worse time to ask for a linkedin recommendation is the day you get laid off or fired. Developing those relationships now really help pay off in the future. I will attest to having your name as a website adds SO much to potential employer's decision than just a resume. I track my visitors and exactly where they come from. Every interview I have gone on for the last two years, I have seen that someone from that company has read my business blog/articles for at least ten minutes, either before or after an interview. Comment on The ONE-PAGE Resume (and why it’s important) by Lisa http://www.bretcococcia.com/the-one-page-resume-and-why-its-important/comment-page-1#comment-38 Lisa Fri, 16 Apr 2010 23:09:10 +0000 http://www.bretcococcia.com/?p=184#comment-38 How come this is the FIRST example of this type of resume that I have ever seen? It makes much more sense than the traditional (stupid) job listing, rev chron resume. Would this be something you would only submit to a recruiter? I don't see some typical HR types understanding this format. How come this is the FIRST example of this type of resume that I have ever seen?
